Then, when you return to your inland hotel in the late afternoon, it will have cooled off again. As the sun gets higher in the sky, it's time to drive toward the coast and enjoy Santa Monica, Malibu, etc. This is a great reason to get a hotel that is inland this way, when you get up in the morning, it will still be cool enough to enjoy the local neighborhood.
